MassMutual Donates $100,000 To Rebuilding Together
Annual donation supports homeowners throughout the country
SPRINGFIELD, Mass., – February 5, 2014 – (RealEstateRama) — Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) has donated $100,000 to Rebuilding Together to help families across the country repair and rebuild their homes.
This is the second year that MassMutual has donated to Rebuilding Together, a national nonprofit organization which provides critical repairs and renovations for low-income homeowners across the United States. The donation is a result of MassMutual’s ongoing efforts to encourage its retirement plan participants, employees and agents to sign up for e-delivery for their quarterly statements, sent by email and available on the company’s RetireSmart website, in the place of mailed paper statements. For every plan participant that opts for e-delivery, the company makes a donation to Rebuilding Together. In 2013, the program had more than 50,000 participants sign up for e-delivery, raising $100,000.
“MassMutual is very pleased to once again be able to help families in need by donating to Rebuilding Together in honor of our plan participants,” said Elaine Sarsynski, Executive Vice President of MassMutual’s Retirement Services Division and Chairman, President and CEO of MassMutual International LLC. “Our donation will help many families preserve and protect one of their most precious assets, their home.”
Founded in 1988, Rebuilding Together nationally brings together volunteers, community leaders, and corporate partners to provide critical repairs, accessibility modifications, and energy efficient upgrades to low-income homes and community centers at no cost to the service recipients. With 187 affiliates across the country, Rebuilding Together mobilizes 100,000 volunteers to complete more than 10,000 projects each year.
“We’re very excited to have MassMutual as a partner again in 2014. Their support of our vision that every person should live in a safe and healthy home will extend our abilities to serve low-income homeowners in need,” said Charley Shimanski, president and CEO of Rebuilding Together. “Together, we will help improve neighborhoods as well the lives of homeowners across the country by making the critical repairs necessary to keep families safe in their homes.”
MassMutual’s e-delivery program is an important part of the company’s continuous efforts to improve customer service and help the environment by reducing paper consumption. Customers interested in signing-up for MassMutual’s e-delivery program may log into their RetireSmart account online at www.retiresmart.com or contact MassMutual’s Retirement Services Participant Information Center at 800-743-5274.
