Mobile App Creates Reports Based on Smart Home and Energy Efficiency Data

(LONG BEACH – April 11, 2017) – (RealEstateRama) — Growing numbers of homebuyers and sellers are looking for energy efficient homes and the Homeselfe®RE app empowers agents with several tools to serve these clients. A survey of brokers and agents released last week by the National Association of REALTORS®(NAR)reveals that nearly 80% feel that Utility Costs are very or somewhat important to homebuyers. Based on its patent pending technology, Homeselfe®RE can easily generate smart home, energy efficiency and solar reports an agent can use in listing presentations and marketing materials.

“This new NAR survey only confirms what we’ve believed for a long time, consumers are not only concerned about the price and size of a home, agents who are able to highlight energy efficiency and smart home features will win the listing,” said Ameeta Jain, Co-Founder of Homeselfe®RE. “Other industry studies also show that listings providing energy costs, sell faster and for more. This is why many MLSs across the country are now including such data sets in all their listings.”

The NAR survey of nearly 55,000 brokers and agents in all regions of the country was conducted in February and demonstrates that the real estate marketplace is shifting toward a greater awareness of sustainability.
• 71% said energy efficiency promotion in listings was very or somewhat valuable
• 60% believe consumers are very or somewhat interested in sustainability
• 43% of respondents reported their MLS includes Green data fields
• 42% were involved with 1-10 properties with Green features in the last 12 months

Homeselfe®RE, which was selected in a tech-innovation competition to be a “2016 NAR Reach Company,” is an effective way agents can capitalize on homebuyers’ growing interest in energy efficiency. The Homeselfe®RE mobile app can elevate an agent’s visibility and reputation by providing factual reports on a home’s utility costs and specific recommendations on what improvements could reduce those costs.

Armed with data provided in Homeselfe®RE reports, agents can include specific energy costs in their listings, provide more in-depth data in their CMAs and listing presentations, as well as, distribute relevant energy efficiency content in their marketing emails and social media posts.

Among its many features, Homeselfe®RE offers the following to brokers and agents:
