Norton will engage District of Columbia residents on how she will approach D.C. and other issues under a Trump administration and a Republican-controlled Congress; her success in defeating 26 attempts last Congress to block or overturn D.C.’s local laws, including eight attempts to overturn D.C.’s gun laws; continuing to protect the District’s budget autonomy referendum, which is now law, from being overturned; securing historic funding for D.C. Tuition Access Grants (DCTAG); the priorities she got for D.C. in the recent surface transportation bill; and other congressional issues of interest to the community.
