New York State’s Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business Program Certifies 14 New Companies

New SDVOB Video Promoting Program Here

Washington – RealEstateRama – In observation of Veterans Day, the New York State Office of General Services (OGS) today announced the recent State certification of 14 new Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business (SDVOBS) and the release of a new video that urges veterans to learn more about the State’s SDVOB program, its benefits, and how to apply for SDVOB certification.

“This Veterans Day, we honor the sacrifices and the important contributions our veterans have made and continue to make to our State and our country,” New York State Office of General Services Acting Executive Deputy Commissioner Roslyn Watrobski said. “We at OGS are proud of our efforts to help veteran-owned business and welcome 14 new companies into the State’s SDVOB program, which assists our service-disabled veterans by offering them opportunities to grow their businesses. We urge more veterans to take advantage of this successful program.”

In September 2021, OGS celebrated the significant milestone of having 900 active SDVOBs that were certified by the OGS Division of Service-Disabled Veterans’ Business Development.

Looking to build on that success, OGS today continued its outreach to service-disabled veteran business owners with a video that promotes the program and features SDVOB owners who have reaped the benefits of State certification. The video, which encourages qualified businesses to apply for certification, can be viewed here.

Later this month, OGS will promote the SDVOB program and opportunities for companies to do business with the State at the VETCON 2021 Veterans in Economic Transition Conference. This year, the annual event will be held from November 30 through December 1 at the Desmond Hotel in Albany.
