This year, Choice Hotels and Rodeway Inn volunteers will repair and revitalize the home of Ms. Jones, who is the proud matriarch of a loving family, and currently lives with her son and his children. Ms. Jones has lived in her home for more than 38 years and dreams of leaving it to her family. However, the home has fallen into grave disrepair and threatens the Jones’ safety and ability to remain living there. From a broken heating system to incomplete electrical wiring, there are several renovations required to ensure Ms. Jones’ dream of continuing to live in the home and eventually giving it to her family remains protected.

Choice Hotels and Rodeway Inn employees will volunteer with Rebuilding Together to make critical modifications, restoring it to a home that is a safe shelter that protects the Jones Family. The extensive and critical renovations to be completed by volunteers include:

– Remodeling the bathroom, including an accessible floor plan and appliances

– Installing a new electrical panel and running electric lines to rooms with poor lighting

– Repairing plumbing throughout the home

– Installing new flooring and HVAC system

– Remodeling the exterior porch to provide better accessibility

“Together we extend our passion for hospitality to the surrounding communities, in an effort to make sure everyone lives safely and productively,” said Steve Joyce, CEO of Choice Hotels International. “The Rebuilding Dreams project is another way we not only raise awareness for the need of safe shelter for our neighbors, but to also engage our franchisees and employees to give back to their communities.”

For four years, Choice Hotels and Rebuilding Together have teamed up for the Rebuilding Dreams project. This annual project aims to serve homeowners and neighbors-in-need in honor of “Make a Difference Day.” To learn more about Rebuilding Together and Choice Hotels, visit: www.rebuildingtogether.org
