One Norton amendment would fully fund existing Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers by replenishing 67,000 Section 8 Housing Choice vouchers that were cut due to sequestration.

Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) today thanked Ronald Machen, the U.S. Attorney for the District Chairman, for his devoted service over the past five years following his announcement that he will resign his office effective April 1, 2015. Norton recommended Machen to President Obama for the position, which heads the largest U.S. Attorney’s Office in the country, and serves as both the local and the federal prosecutor for the nation’s capital.

The Senate unanimously passed bipartisan legislation co-led by U.S. Senator Gary Peters (MI) to strengthen U.S. broadband supply chains and support projects in Michigan aimed at expanding access to high-speed internet. The Network Equipment Transparency (NET) Act would improve transparency in the broadband supply chain through the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to ensure local broadband projects stay on track.
