“Educating the public in the Midwest about energy productivity is important for addressing region-specific needs and inspiring further action. There are also tremendous benefits from hearing from federal leaders like the Department of Energy’s David Danielson. The value of multiple perspectives throughout this campaign, bolstered by today’s event, will undoubtedly help inspire future collaboration, and I look forward to seeing the eventual impact,” said Stacey Paradis, Executive Director of the Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance.

Gayle Schueller, 3M’s vice president of Global Sustainability, said “Our team at 3M is constantly seeking new ways to increase the company’s energy productivity and working to develop products and technologies that help our customers do the same. It’s not just the socially responsible thing to do — it also helps the bottom line. From those in attendance at today’s events and our gathered endorsements of the campaign, it is abundantly clear that other businesses and leaders are already implementing similar strategies. It’s exciting to see how we can inspire one another to keep pushing further efficiency improvements.”

With the input of endorsers and other regional dialogue participants, the Alliance, DOE and the Council will release a roadmap for achieving the shared goal of doubling U.S. energy productivity during the 2015 American Energy and Manufacturing Competitiveness Summitin September
