2017 NAHB International Builders’ Show Boasts Strong Attendance Numbers
Last month, more than 68,000 home builders, remodelers, developers and designers flocked to Orlando, Fla. to attend the 2017 International Builders’ Show® (IBS), the largest annual light construction trade show in the world. The show, hosted by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) returned to Orlando after a four-year run in Las Vegas.

Builder confidence in the single-family 55+ housing market remains strong in the fourth quarter of 2016 with a reading of 67, up eight points from the previous quarter, according to the National Association of Home Builders' (NAHB) 55+ Housing Market Index (HMI) released today. Sales of newly built, single-family homes rose 12.2 percent in 2016 to 563,000 units, the highest annual rate since 2007, according to newly released data by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Census Bureau. New home sales fell 10.4 percent in December 2016 to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 536,000 units.
