The FASB Announces Public Roundtable Meeting to Solicit Input on Proposal to Improve Accounting...

Norwalk, CT - December 21, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- The Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) have announced they will host a series of public roundtable meetings—including one in the United States—to discuss their proposals to improve and converge financial reporting by setting forth consistent criteria for determining whether an entity is an investment company. The U.S. roundtable will also include a discussion about the FASB’s proposed Accounting Standards Update, Real Estate—Investment Property Entities (Topic 973), which develops accounting guidance for entities focused on investing in real estate properties. Building cleaners began their contract talks with employers in mid-November. National Homeless Numbers Decline from 2010 to 2011

WASHINGTON, D.C. - December 16, 2011 - (RealEstateRama) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) reported a 2.1 percent decline in the number of people experiencing homelessness on a given night in January 2011. The number of homeless people, based on counts conducted by localities and states across the nation (called Point-In-Time [PIT] counts), decreased from 649,917 to 636,017. Among the other notable findings presented in the PIT report was a 12 percent decrease among veterans experiencing homelessness between 2010 and 2011.
