Dan and Allisyn Cashdan Surpass $1 Million in Lifetime Giving to the Urban Land Institute Foundation

WASHINGTON – RealEstateRama – The Urban Land Institute (ULI) Foundation is honored to recognize Dan and his wife Allisyn Cashdan for surpassing $1 million in cumulative philanthropic support. The milestone, reached through nearly three decades of generous giving and a recent planned gift commitment, reflects their steadfast commitment to advancing ULI’s mission and impact around the world.

In appreciation of their generosity, Dan and Allisyn join both the Charles Fraser Society, which recognizes donors whose cumulative giving to the ULI Foundation exceeds $1 million, and the James J. Curtis Society, which honors individuals who have made written commitments to support the future of ULI through planned gifts.

A Legacy of Philanthropy

Dan Cashdan, president of Jones Lang LaSalle Securities (JLLS), a ULI Trustee, and a current ULI Foundation board member, began his journey with ULI in the 1990s. “ULI has been a cornerstone of my professional life,” he said.

Over the course of his career, Cashdan has turned to ULI not only as a source of industry knowledge and professional relationships, but also as a place to contribute to issues that matter deeply to him.

“One of the things I’ve valued most about my involvement with ULI has been helping shape the early formation of ULI’s Greenprint Center, now the ULI Randall Lewis Center for Sustainability in Real Estate,” said Cashdan. “Through that work, I’ve had the opportunity to give back to the sustainability community in meaningful ways beyond my day-to-day business. At the same time, ULI has given just as much back to me, opening doors as I expanded our work in the Asia Pacific region in the early 2010s. I’m also grateful to my partners at JLL, especially Doug Bond and Mike Joseph, who have always supported my continued involvement with ULI alongside our business.”

The Cashdans’ latest legacy commitment builds upon a remarkable history of support for the Institute and its work. Dan Cashdan’s philanthropic journey began in 1997 with a $250 gift to the ULI Annual Fund. Since then, he has combined steadfast annual giving with major philanthropic investments across the organization, including meaningful support for the Net Zero Imperative, as well as Advisory Services, UrbanPlan, the Women’s Leadership Initiative, and ULI’s greatest needs.

At the heart of the Cashdans’ philanthropy is a belief that the decisions made today will have meaningful long-term impact. That perspective has become especially meaningful as all three of their sons have pursued careers in the built environment.

“Allisyn and I remain proud, if a little surprised, that all three of our sons, Patrick, Christopher, and Daniel, have found their way into careers in the built environment,” Cashdan said. “We’re confident the ULI Foundation will be here for decades to come, helping the generations after us think carefully about how we build, live, and work on a healthy, thriving planet.”
