GSA PBS Commissioner Officially Announces Disposal of a Centrally Located Property in the District of Columbia

GSA Moving Forward with Disposal of the Cotton Annex

WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) — On March 29, the U.S. General Services Administration’s (GSA) Public Buildings Service (PBS) Commissioner Norman Dong announced the disposal of the Cotton Annex, a property in a prime location in the District of Columbia. GSA is an economic catalyst for cities and communities across the country. Moving underutilized properties out of the federal inventory allows for local use that may better promote economic growth.

“The disposal of the Cotton Annex reflects a more aggressive approach at GSA to dispose of excess and unneeded federal buildings. It also is an important step in the economic revitalization of the Federal Triangle South area in the District of Columbia,” said PBS Commissioner Norman Dong.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Cotton Annex was built in 1937. The property is located at 300 12th St. SW in Washington, D.C. The 118,000 gross square foot six-story building occupies an 1.4 acre site and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
