Historic Energy Efficiency Standards Announced By DOE Will Deliver Massive Energy And Dollar Savings
A Statement from Alliance to Save Energy President Kateri Callahan
Washington, DC – December 21, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — “DOE continues its aggressive and focused campaign to save businesses and consumers money on their energy bills with the announcement of new energy efficiency standards for commercial air conditioners and furnaces. The energy and dollar savings from these latest standards are more than double that of any standard that has been issued to date. And, when added to the more than 40 household and commercial product efficiency standards issued during President Obama’s tenure, these standards will save almost $535 billion and decrease greenhouse gas emissions by more than two billion metric tons through 2030. Paired with Congressional action today to reinstate important energy efficiency tax incentives for consumers and businesses, and to increase funding for DOE’s energy efficiency programs, energy efficiency policies and programs are being used as the foundation for making America’s economy more energy productive.
“Action this week by the Congress and the Administration clearly demonstrates that energy efficiency transcends politics because, simply put, making our economy more energy productive is good for business, good for consumers and good for our environment.”
