SEATTLE, Wash. – February 9, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The Washington State Housing Finance Commission has named Lisa DeBrock to lead its Homeownership division, overseeing more than $800 million in home loans and downpayment assistance each year throughout the state.

“I am passionate about the families we serve and am excited to continue helping them achieve homeownership in my new capacity,” said DeBrock.

“The programs we offer bridge the gap for families who cannot easily access open-market financing and have a huge impact not just on the families we serve, but on the economic vitality of the state. This is a wonderful opportunity.”

As manager of the Homeownership division since 1999, DeBrock has trained thousands of loan originators, non-profits, and real estate professionals on Commission programs. She managed the daily operations of the division and helped develop and implement all current programs.

Before joining the Commission, DeBrock had 10 years of mortgage-banking and housing-counseling experience in the private and public sectors.

“Lisa has the experience, necessary skills and leadership capacity to carry forward the very successful homeownership programs that she has helped develop over the years,” said Kim Herman, executive director of the Housing Finance Commission. “We look forward to working with her in new role.”

As head of the Homeownership division, DeBrock replaces Dee Taylor, who retired from the Commission in December.

About Homeownership:
Over the past 31 years, more than 50,000 Washington residents have bought a home thanks to the Commission’s home-loan program. Qualified borrowers who earn less than $97,000 a year and meet lending standards, including an acceptable credit score, could be eligible for the program.
The Commission’s downpayment assistance loans are an essential part of the program, opening doors to homeownership to those who can otherwise afford to buy.

In addition, the Commission sponsors free homebuyer seminars all across the state. Homebuyers can learn more or find a free class in their area by visiting www.wshfc.org/homebuyer.
