WASHINGTON, DC – April 9, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — Rebuilding Together, a safe and healthy housing organization that believes Community Starts at Home, recently earned a 4-star charity rating (the highest rating) for the ninth consecutive year from Charity Navigator, the nation’s largest charity evaluator. With this year’s rating, Rebuilding Together is now included in the top group of only 1 percent of the charities rated, which have received at least nine consecutive 4-star Charity Navigator evaluations, demonstrating the nonprofit’s exceptional performance.

Rebuilding Together’s mission, bringing volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of low-income homeowners, revitalizes homes and communities by performing essential renovations for low-income families, the elderly, people with disabilities, and veterans. This mission and work has been recognized by Charity Navigator as being executed in a fiscally exceptional manner, outperforming most other charities in America.

For every dollar raised, nearly 86 percent is spent on Rebuilding Together’s direct program expenses. Rebuilding Together consistently achieves its organizational mission and responsibility to communities and homeowners in-need nationwide, as well as its commitment to sound management, accountability and transparency.

“Rebuilding Together is honored to be included in the top 1 percent of charities that have received at least nine consecutive 4-star evaluations from Charity Navigator,” said John L. Fiegel, interim president and CEO of Rebuilding Together. “This outstanding rating demonstrates our ability to serve the needs of low-income homeowners and communities in an efficient and cost effective manner and validates our mission to our donors, supporters, and our affiliates. We strive to be a fiscally responsible organization while increasing the capacity and outreach of our programs.”
