Teachers Mortgage Assistance Program 2012-2013 Program Changes

WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 23, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — CHFA has been notified by the State Commission on Education regarding changes to the listing of Priority and Transitional School districts and Subject-matter Shortage areas that go into effect on July 1, 2012 for the Teachers Mortgage Assistance Program. The changes are as follows:

Transitional School Districts and Priority School Districts are unchanged. Under Subject-matter Shortage areas changes/additions:

o English, 7-12 (deleted)
o Hearing Impaired, PK-12 (added)
o School Library and Media Specialist (added)
o Teachers of English to Speakers of other Languages (TESOL) (deleted)

The CHFA website and on-line reservation system will be updated on July 1 with the revised information indicated above including the posting of the new Statement of Eligibility. Please be sure to use the new Statement of Eligibility which will be in effect July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013 and will be posted in the Lender Documents Library of the CHFA website.

The Teachers Mortgage Assistance Program insert has been re-printed with the new changes. If you would like to receive a supply of the inserts, please fill out a brochure order form and fax it to CHFA to request the new brochure inserts.
