WASHINGTON, D.C. – February 4, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Rep. Richmond (LA-02) issued the following statement in response to FEMA announcing earlier this week that the Housing Authority of New Orleans (HANO) was awarded an additional $1.5 million in federal grants. HANO will use the funds to complete the Florida housing development project in New Orleans, which broke ground in August of 2013.

“The Florida housing development is a part of the city’s history and home to hundreds of New Orleanians,” said Rep. Richmond. “These funds will bring the redevelopment project closer to completion and provide much needed affordable housing to many working families.”

“I will continue to work with FEMA to ensure that we have access to the vital resources necessary to restore the city for all who call New Orleans home.”
