WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 16, 2013 – (RealEstateRama) — The Homeownership Preservation Foundation (HPF), an independent national nonprofit dedicated to helping distressed homeowners navigate financial challenges and avoid mortgage foreclosure through its HOPE™ Hotline at 888-995-HOPE™, announced today that the Bank of America Charitable Foundation awarded the organization a $250,000 grant.

The funds will be used to support HPF’s efforts to improve opportunity for communities hardest hit by the housing crisis through our national HOPE Hotline, which delivers comprehensive financial information, housing counseling and coaching every day, around the clock, to homeowners with mortgage concerns and questions. There is no charge for the call or to receive counseling, both of which are supported by the financial generosity of third-party organizations and foundations such as Bank of America.

“We very much appreciate Bank of America’s continued generosity and support of HPF’s mission, as do the thousands of Americans across the country that are currently working with our counselors to find solutions to their mortgage difficulties,” said Colleen Hernandez, CEO of HPF. “As numerous independent research studies have proven, housing counseling has helped millions of struggling homeowners get back on their financial feet and build long-term financial capability. We are very grateful for partners such as Bank of America that enable us to continue providing informed, reliable counseling to homeowners desperate for information and guidance they can trust.”
