WASHINGTON, D.C. – (RealEstateRama) – The National Institute of Building Sciences is gearing up for the industry’s only conference for the entire building community to connect, collaborate, and design solutions for the built environment – and it’s looking for speakers.

NIBS

Building Innovation 2020 will take place April 6-9, 2020, at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel.

This year’s conference is the eighth iteration of the annual meeting. It’s being refreshed with  three days of education focused on resilience, technology, and workforce.

Preparations now are underway. NIBS is reaching out to NIBS council and committee members and inviting industry professionals to present during the meeting.

Industry leaders with valuable insights, case studies, best practices, lessons learned and/or remaining challenges are encouraged to share their knowledge and experiences with a broad audience of building industry stakeholders.

Some things to consider:

  • Speakers should plan for presentations to run 20 minutes to 30 minutes, with an additional 10 minutes to 15 minutes for Q&A.
  • Sessions will be organized into single-speaker or panel sessions that are 20 minutes to 90 minutes in length, depending on the topic and time available.
  • Speakers may submit an abstract for either an individual presentation or multi-person panel. Panels should represent varied perspectives or industry viewpoints. NIBS reserves the right to organize panels, as needed.

Interested parties should submit a 200-word abstract, 150-word biography, learning objectives, and five keywords describing their presentation via the online form. NIBS strongly recommends submitting a video of a recent speaking engagement.

Abstracts are due by Friday, October 11. Promotional presentations on products or services will not be considered.

If selected, speakers will need to submit a high-resolution headshot and final PowerPoint presentation by Friday, February 7. Speakers will receive a complimentary conference registration to attend the day of their speaking event or a 50% discount on full registration.
