In an effort to help millions of low-income families and seniors on fixed incomes afford their energy bills this coming winter, a bipartisan group of 40 U.S. Senators, led by Susan Collins (R-ME) and Jack Reed (D-RI), are calling on the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to quickly release as much federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) heating aid as possible.

Whitfield To Introduce Cap and Trade Congressional Review Act Resolutions MONDAY

Energy and Power Subcommittee Chairman Ed Whitfield (KY-01) today announced his plans to introduce resolutions under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) to disapprove of two final rules issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for new and existing power plants. Under the CRA, a rule disapproved by Congress shall have no force and effect and an agency may not issue the same or a substantially similar rule unless authorized by subsequent legislation

Congresswoman Stefanik Cosponsors the POWER Act

Congresswoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY-21) has cosponsored H.R. 2657, the POWER Act. Currently, the Internal Revenue Code provides tax credits to consumers who purchase renewable energy producing items. New York State third quarter home sales jump 9 percent

The New York State housing market remained robust in the 2015 third quarter with closed sales increasing by 9.1 percent compared to the 2014 third quarter, according to the housing market report released today by the New York State Association of REALTORS. The statewide median sales price also continued its growth trend in the third quarter, increasing by 4.3 percent compared to a year ago.
