Projects in St. Louis, Mo., Hammond, Ind., Las Vegas, Nev. and New Orleans, La. scheduled

Washington, D.C. – October 18, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Rebuilding Together, a national nonprofit whose members believe in a safe and healthy home for every person, is collaborating with Caesars Foundation and Caesars Entertainment Corporation employees to help homeowners in-need maintain a safe and healthy home.

This collaboration will directly benefit low-income families, the elderly, veterans, and persons with disabilities. Rebuilding Together and hundreds of Caesars Entertainment’s HERO employee volunteers will renovate homes in St. Louis, Mo., Hammond, Ind., Las Vegas, Nev. and New Orleans, La.

“The basic need for a safe and healthy home is something we can all relate to,” said Gwen Migita, vice president of sustainability and community affairs at Caesars Entertainment. “By providing much needed repairs and sustainable upgrades, we hope our efforts will make a lasting impact on these individuals’ well-being and their wallets.”

Sponsored by a combined $128,000 in gifts from Caesars Foundation, a private charitable foundation funded by a percentage of operating income from the company’s resorts, all of the homes Caesars works on will include energy efficient upgrades to help homeowners reduce energy costs and curb their carbon footprint.

Committed to providing members of the community with both the knowledge and tools to adopt environmentally friendly practices at home, the company’s skilled craftsman will host regional eco-friendly home training sessions throughout the year for residents, Rebuilding Together affiliates and supporters. Volunteers will also distribute 600 energy efficiency kits among low-income homeowners comprised of compact fluorescent light bulbs, draft stoppers and outlet gaskets that will increase a home’s energy efficiency in the long-term.

Events are scheduled in the following areas:

  • St. Louis, Mo. – Caesars’ HERO volunteers from Harrah’s St. Louis Casino performed maintenance work on an older individual’s home on October 6 as part of the company’s “thank you” gift to the St.      Louis community.
  • Hammond, Ind. – Caesars’ HERO volunteers from Horseshoe Casino Hammond will work to repair a veterans’ community center on November 5.
  • Las Vegas, Nev. – More than 200 Caesars’ HERO volunteers and its top meetings and events customers will work together to renovate two homes in Las Vegas on November 10.
  • New Orleans, La. – Caesars’ HERO volunteers from Harrah’s New Orleans Casino will renovate the home of a displaced U.S. Vietnam War Veteran by performing energy efficiency and weatherization work on November 7.

In addition to the home renovation, Harrah’s New Orleans will be asking residents and guests to support their collaborative efforts with Rebuilding Together to create safer, healthier and more energy-efficient homes in the New Orleans community. Between October 29 and November 12, Caesars Entertainment will make a donation to Rebuilding Together (up to a total of $50,000) each time guests swipe their Total Rewards cards, buy Pepsi products or purchase special edition t-shirts designed by world-renowned New Orleans artist, Terrance Osborne. Guests will also have the opportunity to make a direct donation or convert Total Rewards points to cash for Rebuilding Together.

“It is inspiring to see an organization such as Caesars Entertainment reach out to those in need to provide not only the resources to live healthier, but also the knowledge to make positive life-changing decisions that affect them, their neighbors and the environment,” said Gary A. Officer, President and CEO of Rebuilding Together. “We see these efforts as the next stage for empowering homeowners to live healthier, longer lives.”
