Newark’s Hahne & Co. Building, Boston’s Mosaic on the Riverway, and Austin’s Wildflower Terrace have been selected by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Terwilliger Center for Housing as the winners of the 2017 Jack Kemp Excellence in Affordable and Workforce Housing Award. The annual award, which honors developments that ensure housing affordability for people in a broad range of incomes, is provided to developments in which all or a portion of the units are affordable to households earning up to 120 percent of the area median income (AMI).

Thomas W. Mr. Toomey, a longtime ULI member, ULI Trustee and ULI Foundation Governor, will serve a two-year term that ends June 30, 2019.

Twenty-five extraordinary developments from around the world have been selected as finalists for the Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) 2017 Global Awards for Excellence, which is widely recognized as one of the land use industry’s most prestigious award programs. This year’s finalists include three located in Asia, two in Europe, and 20 in North America.

Billy Grayson, an expert in sustainability program development for companies and organizations, has been selected by the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to serve as the executive director of its Center for Sustainability and Economic Performance. ULI is a global, multidisciplinary, member-driven real estate organization dedicated to responsible land use and building thriving, sustainable communities. Grayson joined the Institute’s staff on May 30.

Teams from Carnegie Mellon University, Université Laval in Quebec, the University of Maryland, and the University of Texas at Austin have been selected as the four finalists for the 15th annual Urban Land Institute (ULI) Hines Student Competition, an ideas competition that provides students the opportunity to devise a comprehensive design and development scheme for an actual, large-scale site in an urban area. The four teams are advancing to the final round of the competition in April, where they will compete for a $50,000 first place prize.
