WASHINGTON, D.C. - April 25, 2014 - (RealEstateRama) -- Representative Rosa DeLauro (D-CT) and Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) today urged Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Secretary Shaun Donovan to address the growing issue of unaccompanied homeless youth. Unaccompanied youth live on their own, without a parent or other adult guardian, and are under age 25. According to HUD’s 2013 Point-in-Time Estimate of Homelessness, over 45,000 unaccompanied youth experience homelessness on a given night.

WASHINGTON, D.C. - April 17, 2014 - (RealEstateRama) -- On April 14, 2013, the U.S. Department of Labor Veterans' Employment and Training Service (DOL-VETS) announced the availability of up to $6 million to fund 24 or more Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program (HVRP) grants. Approximately 2,000 veterans will receive job training and related services to help them succeed in civilian careers. HVRP is the only federal program that focuses exclusively on the employment of veterans who are homeless.

Gray will maintain the expansion of services for homeless residents based on National Weather Service projections of frigid air and wind-chill temperatures in the District through January 24.
