Survey of Exclusive Buyer Agents Shows Lack of Inventory is the Top Issue Facing...

The National Association of Exclusive Buyer Agents recently conducted a survey of its membership to determine the top issues facing today’s home buyers. Exclusive buyer agents across the country were simply asked, “What is the number one issue facing home buyers in your market today?” Two-thirds of the respondents responded with lack of inventory or low inventory.

Hatch: Highway Bill a Historic Opportunity to Secure Nation’s Infrastructure

In a speech today on the Senate floor, Finance Committee Chairman Orrin Hatch (R-Utah) voiced his support for a historic bipartisan bill to fund America’s roads, highways, and bridges for a full three years without increasing taxes or adding to the deficit. The measure, which reauthorizes the nation’s highway programs for six years, marks the longest funded multi-year highway bill in more than a decade.

HUD AND CENSUS BUREAU REPORT NEW RESIDENTIAL SALES IN JUNE

Sales of new single-family houses in June 2015 were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 482,000, according to estimates released jointly today by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the Census Bureau. This is 6.8 percent (±12.5%)* below the revised May rate of 517,000 and is 18.1 percent (±18.1%) above the June 2014 estimate of 408,000.

Sales of newly built, single-family homes dropped 6.8 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 482,000 units in June, according to newly released data from HUD and the U.S. Census Bureau.

Apartment Demand Stays Hot, Debt Markets Decline in NMHC Quarterly Survey

Consumer demand for rental apartments remained strong while the market for apartment properties stayed relatively unchanged in the latest National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) Quarterly Survey of Apartment Market Conditions. The market tightness, sales volume and equity finance indexes all remained near or above the breakeven level of 50, while the debt-financing index fell to 35. For the survey’s special question, only 15 percent of respondents indicated that their apartment homes directly competed with single-family rentals

NAMB Calls for Full Disclosure of Increased G-fees on New TRID Forms

NAMB - the Association of Mortgage Professionals, is calling on Congress to require the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) to include a new line item clearly stating the hidden cost of G-fees on the soon to be required TRID forms. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac guarantee fees, commonly referred to as G-fees, are not readily detectable by consumers in their mortgage documents since they are incorporated into the underlying rates paid by borrowers.
