HUD, CITY OF LONG BEACH SIGN $3.7 MILLION AGREEMENT THAT WILL CREATE JOBS, CONTRACTING...

WASHINGTON, DC - April 6, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development announced today that it has signed a $3.7 million agreement with the city of Long Beach, CA, that will help to create job opportunities for low-income residents and contracting opportunities for the businesses that hire them. The agreement was reached after a HUD review determined that the city’s Section 3 implementation plan was inadequate.

MBA: Fourth Quarter Mortgage Banker Production Profits Decline Despite Higher Origination Volumes

WASHINGTON, DC - April 5, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- Independent mortgage banks and mortgage subsidiaries of chartered banks made an average profit of $1,093 on each loan they originated in the fourth quarter of 2011, down from $1,263 per loan in the third quarter of 2011, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association’s (MBA) Fourth Quarter 2011 Mortgage Bankers Performance Report released today.
