WASHINGTON, D.C. – November 27, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Beginning Monday, November 30 (weather permitting), the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) will begin comprehensive repairs to a water main along MD 355 (Rockville Pike) between the ramps to I-495 (Capital Beltway) and the MD 355 Cedar Lane/West Cedar Lane intersection. Repairs are expected to be completed in December.

Further repairs are required on the water main that ruptured last month. Once WSSC completes its work, its contractors will resurface the road.

Work will occur up to 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Motorists should expect temporary single and double left and right lane closures on both the northbound and southbound lanes of MD 355.

To complete the resurfacing, WSSC crews will temporarily close the southbound right turn lane from MD 355 to West Cedar Lane and work behind concrete barriers. The work will create a temporary right turn/through lane on southbound MD 355 adjacent to the closed lane. WSSC is also permitted to close an additional single right southbound lane on MD 355 weekdays during off-peak hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and overnight, Sunday through Thursday, 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
