ASFE/The Geoprofessional Business Association Joins ConsensusDocs Coalition To Improve Construction Industry Increases 80+% in Five Years

WASHINGTON, DC – October 4, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — ASFE/The Geoprofessional Business Association (ASFE) has become the 38th member of ConsensusDocs, a unique coalition that produces best practice contracts for the design and construction industry.

“ASFE is happy to be here,” ASFE Executive Vice President John Bachner said. “Joining the Coalition helps ASFE help its members. It gives us a seat at the table when it comes to drafting standard contracts for application industry wide. Most organizations believe they already develop fair and balanced contracts, but from their members’ points of view. Developing contracts with the involvement of 38 organizations can make a huge difference.”

ASFE/The Geoprofessional Business Association is a not-for-profit organization of nearly 300 member firms that provide geoprofessional services vital to the well-being of society, now and in the future. These services include geotechnical, geologic, environmental, construction materials engineering and testing, and related professional services. ASFE’s purpose is to help geoprofessionals maximize their importance and value to the marketplace, achieve business excellence, and manage risk.

ConsensusDocs are the only contracts endorsed by 38 leading design and construction industry organizations. Offering a library of 100+ contract documents addressing all methods of project delivery, ConsensusDocs incorporate fair risk allocation and best practices to represent the project’s best interests. Coalition members represent design professionals, owners, contractors, subcontractors and sureties (DOCS).
