Hoeven Announces More Than $250K to North Dakota Housing Authorities to Promote Family Self-Sufficiency
Senator John Hoeven, a member of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded three grants totaling $255,502 to housing authorities in North Dakota to help families increase their earned income and reduce their need for rental subsidies and other assistance. The funds are made available through HUD’s Family Self-Sufficiency program, which provides families with opportunities for education, job training, counseling and other services.

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) has issued a boil water advisory for Rural Water District (RWD) No. 9 located in Montgomery County. WSSC Begins Further Repairs on Water Main that Ruptured Last Month along MD 355
Beginning Monday, November 30 (weather permitting), the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) will begin comprehensive repairs to a water main along MD 355 (Rockville Pike) between the ramps to I-495 (Capital Beltway) and the MD 355 Cedar Lane/West Cedar Lane intersection. Repairs are expected to be completed in December.

Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon reports ongoing progress in the shift of policies to the private market from the state’s insurer of last resort, Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation (Citizens). At the same time, he is also reminding property insurance policyholders that the deadline to claim a rebate for the Citizens Assessment charged on their 2011 insurance policies is December 31, 2015. Nearly $34 million, or 52 percent, of the refundable assessments available for 2011 remains unclaimed.
