NYS OFFICE OF GENERAL SERVICES WINS 2022 NATIONAL AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN PROCUREMEN

New York – RealEstateRama – New York State Office of General Services (OGS) Commissioner Jeanette Moy today announced that OGS has been awarded the prestigious 2022 Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement® (AEP) from the National Procurement Institute, Inc. This marks the sixth consecutive year that OGS has received an AEP award.

“The hard work and dedication of OGS’s Procurement Services team have earned New York State this well-deserved recognition from the National Procurement Institute each year for six years running,” Commissioner Moy said. “The team’s pursuit of excellence has led to innovations in government buying that benefit New York taxpayers and grants companies of all sizes the opportunity to expand their role in the economy by doing business with the State.”

OGS Procurement Services manages approximately 1,500 contracts for commodities, services, and technology that State agencies, local governments, schools, and non-profit organizations depend on to fulfill their essential public missions.

The AEP Award is earned by public and non-profit agencies that demonstrate a commitment to procurement excellence. This annual program recognizes procurement organizations that embrace Innovation, Professionalism, Productivity, Leadership, and e-Procurement. The AEP program encourages the development of excellence as well as continued organizational improvement to earn the award annually.

For 2022, there were 171 successful award applicants, including 73 cities, 36 counties, 15 special districts, 17 school districts, 14 higher education agencies, five state or provincial agencies, and 11 others.

Focused on leading excellence in public procurement, the National Procurement Institute was founded in 1968 as a non-profit organization that serves public procurement professionals internationally. The organization established the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award in 1995.
