Mullin Continues to Fight President’s Overreaching Rules on Power Plants
Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-02) on Tuesday voted to disapprove the Obama administration’s final rules regulating emissions from power plants. The resolutions, S.J. Res. 23 and S.J. Res. 24, passed the U.S. Senate on November 17, 2015, and are identical to the disapproval resolutions Mullin cosponsored in the U.S. House of Representatives.
HOUSE PASSES RESOLUTIONS OF DISAPPROVAL ON EPA POWER PLANT RULES
Congressman Kevin Cramer announced today the U.S. House of Representatives passed two resolutions of disapproval relating to the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) carbon dioxide rules. S.J. Res 23, is a resolution of disapproval for the final 111(b) rule for new electric power plants and S.J. Res. 24, is a resolution of disapproval for the final 111(d) rule for existing electric power plants.
Marchant Votes to Block President’s Clean Power Plan
The House today passed S.J. Res 23 and S.J. Res 24, two bills that would block harmful Obama Administration regulations on energy producers. Specifically, the bills utilize the Congressional Review Act to prohibit the administration from issuing the same or substantively similar regulations without legislation from Congress.

Manhattan Borough Board Votes Against Mayor’s Zoning Proposals, Outlines Needed Fixes
At a special meeting Monday morning, the Manhattan Borough Board formally voted to deny its approval to Mayor Bill de Blasio’s Zoning for Quality & Affordability (ZQA) and Mandatory Inclusionary Housing (MIH) Zoning proposals unless a range of outstanding major concerns are addressed. The Borough Board, made up of Manhattan’s Community Board chairs and City Council members, recommended disapproval of both plans by votes of 12-0, with four abstentions.
