Longridge Knolls storm water pond repair project to begin

A Howard County construction project to repair a storm water pond on Davis Road in the vicinity of Roundtree Lane in Columbia is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, November 16. The project will include replacement of the pond’s metal outlet riser, which has eroded, with a new concrete outlet riser. Also, the steel outfall pipe, which connects the riser to outlet the pond, will be replaced with a concrete pipe. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late December 2015

USDA Provides $314 Million in Water and Waste Infrastructure Improvements in Rural Communities Nationwide

USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack today announced loans and grants for 141 projects to build and improve water and wastewater infrastructure in rural communities across the nation. "Many rural communities need to upgrade and repair their water and wastewater systems, but often lack the resources to do so," Vilsack said. "These loans and grants will help accomplish this goal. USDA's support for infrastructure improvements is an essential part of building strong rural economies."

Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas Reports Third Quarter Operating Results

The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas (Bank) today reported net income of $5.6 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2015. In comparison, for the quarter ended June 30, 2015, the Bank reported net income of $23.9 million. For the nine months ended September 30, 2015, the Bank reported net income of $52.5 million.

Molly’s Falls Pond to Become Vermont’s Newest State Park

The people of Vermont will now forever have access to one of the state's most popular and well-loved recreation areas in Central Vermont-the Molly's Falls Pond property, known by many as the "Marshfield Reservoir". The Vermont Land Trust announced the sale of 1,029 acres to the Department of Forests, Parks & Recreation. Three years after Superstorm Sandy hit New York, Congressman Steve Israel (D –NY) renewed his push and announced legislation that would make co-ops, condo associations, and certain common interest communities eligible for the same vital assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) available to other homeowners. Currently, co-ops, condo associations, and common interest communities are only eligible to receive loans and not grants. Following Superstorm Sandy, Rep.
